We loved our aft cabin. I would consider one again on any of the Carnival ships. On the decks with angled railings the useable space on the extended balconies is a bit less. My partner (AGAYCRUISER) and I were on the Carnival Spirit (a sister ship to the Miracle on Dec. 1 2006 crusie. We were in aft cabin 8273. We had no noise from teh Lido deck right above us. We did have a bit of soot on occasion, but our cabin steward was always on top of it after the first morning at sea.
