Tender Ports vs. Pier Ports

We are going on the Valor in September I had heard that Grand Cayman Island and Belize are tender ports, while Isla Roatan and Costa Maya both have piers. However, a friend told me that GC does now have a pier. Can anyone tell me if that's true?

Regarding the tender ports: How many tenders are there, and how often do they go to and from the ship?

Thanks!!

While GC has had a pier for years [probably decades], large cruise ships can't navigate thru the coral reef to get to it, It's a 20 minute tender ride into GC....and tenders run as often as every 10 minutes during peak periods

GC is a tender port. However, the position of the ship in the harbor area determines the length of the tender. Some are much shorter than 20 minutes.

Belize is what takes 20 minutes as you dock 9 miles out of the port.

GrandCAyman is like 5 minutes you tender to the boats which will take you to the dock.
