We did St martin in Noverber: what he could be talking about is, in order to get to town there is a water taxi most use. Other than that there is no tendering in the Eastern Caribbean.
Just why did the cruise line tell me that you are tendered in ST.Martin!!!
Or is this just another case of the corp.office not knowing what going on!!!
I guess they don't know what the're talkin about, I have sailed the Century and it docks at the pier... Wait I'll go find a pic of it tied up in St.Martin...
This a link to the whole gallery, I you scroll down to the pic where the guy is working the rigging on the catamaran, the picture below that one in the middle is the Century and 2 other ships tied up at the pier... Sorry that goes to the main gallery page... Go to the gallery search alphabetically for "Hooked's Century" than look for the above....
Here is some info from St. Maarten website. Maybe the dock is full on the day that your ship arrives in Philipsburg and you may have to tender.
Where does the ship dock?
Most ships dock on the Dutch side, in Great Bay, at the A.C. Wathey Pier in Point Blanche. The pier is about 1 mile from the center of Philipsburg. Some ships anchor in Great Bay and tenders will transport passengers directly to the center of town. Taxis are readily available at the pier. Although taxis are not metered, fares are required to be posted on the Dutch side. Fare to Philipsburg is $2 and $10 to Marigot
