Last week I posted that I was having some tests for anemia and thyroid problems. Both tests came back low, as expected. I am going to start on a prescription strength iron supplement, and watch the thyroid for awhile. Gayle, I hope you are right that I will start feeling better soon!

Thanks all for the good thoughts and advice! That's what I love about this place! There is a resident expert on almost any topic! :)

The iron pills will help you a lot. My DD Maria has been on the Iron for two weeks along with an increase in the Thyroid meds. She looks and feels so much better. She goes back next week for another blood test.

glad to hear they've figured it out; I have a long time friend who is on meds for thyroid issues, and they work great for her. Praying that you have success, as well.

:eek:Make sure you eat plenty of fiber while on those iron supplements. They can be a bit uncomfortable...if you know what I mean!

Affirmative Bobbie, I vote to add applesauce, lots of fresh raw fruits and veggies and orange flavored metamucil to the diet. LOL

I know several people (my mother and mother-in-law among them) who would tell you to eat more liver. Personally, take the supplement.

Good luck with the meds. I hope it does the job for you. And I agree with eating lots of fresh raw veggies and fruit.
