sweeper,We quietly thanked our waiter and waiter assistant each time they filled our water glass, gave us food, etc. While it might seem to us that we are being overly polite, these guys (and girls) hear this stuff on each cruise. I think no matter how it seems to be overly polite to us, just keep doing it. They might notice when you DO NOT thank them moreso than when you do. Our waiter was so nice, our wine steward (female) was fun to kid with and the bar attendant and assistant waiter were serious. We enjoyed their service during the whole cruise and our waiter only messed up one time on whose dessert was whose only because we confused him when we ordered. He really was nearly perfect.
