we are planing the last two weeks in july and the first week in August.this is the most appropriate fore our holidays form work.Do you know how viable 2 weeks self drive, stayind at b&b`s is. I know alaska is big, but is it too big to self-drive. We like the independance of going where we want to.so the rough plan is to spend Ither the first or last week doing a cruise, and the other two weeks touring on land. wWe just did a similar thing in South Africa, where we went on a guided safari for a week and then drove ourselves along the south coast for the second and third weeks. The whale wathing on the south coast of south africxa is amazing (southern wright whales calving), so we hope to see some whales in alaska too.later...lee.
