MSC Cruises Has Just Posted the Following:
Call it "shell massage", "seashell massage" or simply "shell therapy", it's all good for describing "The Kiss of the Ocean", the exotic new feature especially created for guests aboard the MSC Splendida.
Gorgeous real pearly pink clam shells are heated and used for this unique relaxing massage where heat is used in a similar way to that of a hot stone massage. But the shells introduce a whole new range of sensations, techniques and energy that clearly transcend the more conventional massage.
The large clams are specially prepared for the massage by carefully warming and immersing them in hot sea extract oils.
Their smooth surfaces and contoured shapes are then used to gently massage away stress and tension.
A special "sea foam" preparation is used for the face treatment while scallop shells are carefully applied to the eyes to enhance cromotherapy.
