The Solarium

OK, so is this solarium for real? Is it really for adults only? My husband is adamant that he wants at least some adult time. We are starting our trip in Orlando and I'm figuring he will definitely be ready for some nice quiet cozy time. I am planning a few surprises for him to keep him in the love bug mood and I can kinda see that ruined by some little kid crashing the party in the hot tub. Also, does the area have music and drink servers and such? Any advice and maybe pics would be so cool!
Sorry I have so many questions but this is our first cruise and our 10th anniversary. Very excited!!!!

Well the Solarium I believe is 16 years of age and older and I did not see any young kids in the area on the Navigator. But don't expect it to be a quiet, romantic area. The place is pretty small and there are plenty of adults around that it is sometimes difficult to find a deck chair. There was bar service but surprisingly no music. I did not even hear any piped in music from the PA system which surprised me because everywhere else there was some form of music.

Here is a picture of the Solarium on the Navigator of the Seas on a day at sea:

The solarium is for anyone 16 and older........however,kids can walk thru..it is not off to the side or anything,,,,,,all solariums have a solarium bar,but usually no bar servers walking around....you gotta get up to get something.............most solariums also have a food counter(which anyone can go to regardless of age).....burgers, hot dogs, pizza, crepes(varies from ship to ship).........no music in there................very quiet and peaceful.

What ship are you going onn?

DH & I spent some quiet time in the Solarium on the Jewel....can get a little loud if the roof is closed(mostly loud talking adults). We only saw kids walking thru....well behaved. Dont remember music, but I do remember chirping sounds(possibly birds/crickets) that they piped in...we found it very relaxing reclining on the chairs facing out towards the water....I read while DH napped....have a great time!
heres a picture of the Solarium on the Radiance.

Hmmm, still looks good to me. Will have fill the MP3 with some steel drum music and Bob Marley. That should do. Thanks for all the answers. Any other pics are always welcome. The day I book, which I'm hoping will be my Valentines Day gift, I plan to take all the pics and make a screensaver for myself.

The staff is very good about keeping youngsters out of the solarium. Nice for we grown-ups.
