Hello All
Less then 2 months away from my 3rd cruise. Headed off on the Splendor Dec 20 for 7 days, Doing the Eastern route. There's 5 of us going and it's going to be a week long party : ) Anyone else going to be sailing with us that week?? I've been doing as much research as I can about this new ship and the best I can tell the reviews are sort of mixed so far. I'm not sure if this is normal for a new ship to take a few months to work out the kinks or if its because the ship has started her life over in Europe and maybe, she is more set up for a life over here in these waters, and maybe more set up for an American tourist?? We picked this cruise because the ship was brand new (July 2008) and this sailing because the ship and staff will have had a few trips under there belt on the Eastern route by the time we sail. Anyone have any comments or reviews about the Splendor or about our reasoning for picking the cruise the way we did?? This is everyones first trip with Carnival and where hoping for good times to come of it?? 2 or us are in our 60's and 3 or us are in our 20's - 30's and over all we are hoping that Carnival lives up to its rep as being 'THE FUN SHIPS", higher energy and maybe a bit younger??
We already have Supper Club reservations for the first night and, we might try again later in the week, if the first night is so good. All of us love sushi, but the best I can tell is that they don't open the sushi bar until around 4pm each day?? That makes for a nice pre dinner snack or late afternoon lunch, but does anyone know if they open up early for lunch maybe on a sea day and is the selection very good?? I've been told that Carnival still does one big "Special" midnight buffet like they used to do. Is this true and what night do they normally do it on a seven day trip??
Thanks for any info or comments you guys can toss our way. Hope every has a great cruise wither its soon or a year from now. Maybe we will see you on that New Monster Ship that Royal is building, have always wanted to sail on one of those mega ships, just waiting for the dates to come out : )
