Theme nights?

Attention Celebrity/Century veteran sailors! I am a first time Century traveler and have some questions please. Will be sailing on July 5th to the western caribbean. Will there be theme nights? I can't get any info on this and would like to prepare prior to boarding the ship with whatever I might need (Island Night, Pirate Night, etc.) Is anyone familiar with suite #1200? It is on the sports deck right near the elavators and is one of two suites coded at category 01 and the remaining cabins are sky suites. On deck plan illustrations they all appear to be the same size...I get conflicting information on exactly what we booked. Has anyone used this cabin and can share their knowledge? Also regarding the butler service.. will we have both a butler and a room attendant and assume they would be tipped the same amount? I understand with suites that we have priority check - in. What exactly does that mean? We are to have complimentary use of the Thallasoptherapy pool...is that a one-time use or daily? Anyone know the usual temps in the area for this time of year and any danger of tornados/storms? Thank you for any information you can give!

So many Questions...so little time.. I have not sailed the century so can't help you with the room thing. Theme nights generally are a thing of the past on Celebrity. Likley will have a tex mex deck party and purhaps a caribbean night. It's not like the old dress up particiapate days of yore but you could take your pirate costume and fit it in somewhere I'm sure. Those cruise staffers are always looking for someone to liven up their functions. I shud say that we usally travel on longer trips and if you are just going for a week tings may be a little more active. Use of the pool depends on what ever/who ever made the arrangements if it's tied to the room use it will be for the entire cruise. Weather shud be sunny and hot and you're getting into the start of the H word season so the captain may take you elsewhere if there is a problem. Won't bother you much regardless of what happens. Enjoy...

I sailed on the Century last Sept., so things may have changed but there was some "theme" nights, although do not feel pressured to dress the part. A few people did and I wished I had, but not very many came prepared with costumes or themed clothes. What I remember is there was definitely a 50's night. I also remember a cowboy (Tex Mex Buffet) theme where they did line dancing at the midnight buffet. Also there was an "island" themed buffet too - ya know hawaiin shirts, flowers in your hair kind of stuff. That's what I remember. Have fun!

We had an outside cabin (I think we were category 3?) on the 9th or 10th floor. As far as temps - HOT AND HUMID. It is hurrican season, but it is usually not very active in these early summer months. However we did just have T.S. Bill go through the Gulf, so you never know. We were "outrunning" a hurricane on our trip last Sept. The waters were a little rough. Nothing a dramamine before bed didn't fix, though. Also, it meant we re-arranged our ports a bit. We had a shorter time in Key West and switched the Key West day with the day at sea. So just be prepared to be flexible if the weather is bad. I live in Florida and we've been having a lot of afternoon showers these past few weeks, but that's normal. Make sure you do your sun-bathing in the morning and I think you'll be fine.

The above poster answered about the theme nights. As for the T- pool because you are in a suite you can use it all day any hours that it is open as many times a day you want to go. The temp in the T-pool is around 98 degrees they keep it body temp and it is wonderful!! Yes you will get a butler and a cabin steward and yes you tip them both about the same. The afternoon tea at 4pm daily is great although I had coffee and then you get snacks with it.You also get free espresso and cappuccino which is my favorite, as long as it is delivered to your room. You don't get it free at Cova Coffee bar.Any special request can go to your butler and he will see that it is taken care of by someone. You get a nice big blue tote bag as well as your little canvas one also. Oh and if it rains there are umbrellas in your cabin for use while onboard. Lots of extras too many to mention, enjoy.
