Here's Cindy's last Journal entry.

+16

Where do I begin. First off, I am home from work, sick. Even the energizer bunny runs out of steam. I am not sure if I caught something at the hospital but let’s just say the bathroom is my friend today. Also fighting a fever and headache so I am laying low.

Now on to the reason for my being and this page.

I have some very good news and some we are not sure news. Let’s start with the good stuff.

WBC 2.69 (Awesome)

ANC 1400 (OMG)

Hemoglobin 8.3

Platelets 17(Ouch)

Billirubin 11.7 (down a little!!)

His ANC went from 327 to 1400 in one day. Unbelievable. He now has permission to walk or ride the halls during the evening, when there are less people around. He will have to have a mask on I believe but at least he can get out of the stupid room. I hope that helps his spirits.

Now for the liver. I can tell you what I know so far. It is not Veno occlusive disease. And they don’t think it is GVH either as it started too soon. They are doing a dye test today to see if his gallstones are infected. Believe it or not, this is what I pray for. They can be removed and even the gallbladder should they go that route. I have not had mine for over 25 years. I researched and found out that this indeed can cause jaundice. And they are also doing a blood flow test on his liver. Not sure I know why on that one. So still no answers but there is hope that it is a fixable problem. So all in all, things are a little more promising. Please keep up the prayers. I need this baby home so we all can feel better.

Hi Hooked, I just copied Cindy's update to post here and found you had beat me to it. I was going to title mine "BEWARE, ELLIOTT IS ON THE LOOSE!" LOL That ANC level was always the deciding factor if I was able to continue with my chemo treatments on schedule or not. So glad they are finally responding like they should for him. I'm sure he will be very releived to at last be able to leave that tiny hospital room, whether he has to wear a mask or not. So will Dan for that matter!!!!! Now, if that infection turns out to be treatable with a simple cure then things can proceed faster. BUT, simple is not always easy, so lets pray for the best here.

Cindy, sorry you feel like crap, LOL try to stay warm kiddo.

Hugs, Mariposa

Wonderful news! At least things seem to be going in the right direction. And neat that he can walk the halls - at last.

Glad to hear things are looking better & I'm sure getting out of that little room will help the spirits at least a little bit.
