We will be in Belebe, Colon and Limon in January. I am not a swimmer and was wonderding if anyone had suggestions on things to do and places to visit. Don't get me wrong, I like being on the water, just can't swim. I've swam with the sting-rays and have gone snorkeling before. Any help you have would be appreciated.

Hi,
I posted a review of the Carnival Spirit in the Reviews section of this board -- we went last February on this same itinerary. In Belize I recommend the Altun Ha / River Wallace Tour-- a great tour of the Mayan site and of the river and all of the wild life. In Costa Rica we did the Green Train tour which was neat, saw the beuatiful countryside and banana plantations. In Panama you MUST splurge and take the Canal Tour, the BIG one that costs 165 per person. You get to go through 2 sets of locks, the Miraflores and the Pedro Miguel locks. The canal is an amzing thing to see and to go through part of it on a ferry boat is a once in a lifetime change, unless you come back and go through on a cruise ship!

These ports are relatively new and not great beach ports anyway. We went on Reggie's Cave Tubing tour which was lots of fun down the Sibrun River. He will supply lifevests, if you really think you may need one. His tour is $65 per person. At Limon, go to the Red Canopy and look at the tours with prices listed. We did the #1 rated Tortugero Canal and Banana Plantaion tour at $45 per couple. This included the boat ride and many stops for photo opportunities including a supermarket stop that I requested. At Colon, we took our only ship tour Ocean to Ocean Train trip which included a stop and complete shoreside explanation of the Miraflores Lock, Balboa Yacht Club for a view of the Bridge of the America's, Stops for photo opportunities on the bay at Panama City. A ship's tour is highly recommended at this port.
Bon Voyage

Shortyholly, I think you might be the first person on this forum who is going on the same cruise as me! Are you on the Legend?
New Year's is my anniversary, and my hubby and I are looking forward to a great trip!

I can't address the other tours mentioned, but I can HIGHLY recommend Reggie's cave tubing tour in Belize. Of our four cruises, this excursion was the best our family (we're in our 40's with a daughter who's 20 and a son who's 17) has ever experienced. We all had a GREAT time. If you're interested, check out Reggie at www.regtours.com.
