It is snowing and sleeting and I am cold and want spring back! They even cancelled our ministry school meeting tonight because the parking lot was icy. So, I get an extra evening to just sit and try to keep warm. I refuse to turn the thermostat any higher, so I am wrapped in a blanket and once in a while I have a cat wander by and keep me warm.

I spent all day yesterday taking and editing Simon's anniversary photos (posted below) so I don't even have that to do. I am free to watch TV and shiver, lol.

I am supposed to go out tomorrow morning, which right now I don't think is going to happen either. The weather is hard on my asthma, very wheezy tonight. Running the furnace does that to me, very drying. So, I have a bowl of boiling water next to me with Vicks vapo steam in it. Isn't it fun to get old?

So, what's going on in your world tonight?

Connie Stay put don't go out in that mess. Tomorrow afternoon we are supposed to get snow so the ride home will be a mess for us. And feel better.

I bid on a train set for Kaan and it had a shipping price. I won the bid and imagine my surprise when I received an invoice for 24.00 more. So I just wrote the seller and said hey what's up. He used the adjustable by zip code price feature and then sent me a bill for some outrageous price. I could ship the toy back to China for cheaper. I'm sure I'll get it straightened out but this is a new seller so he needs to understand you can't jack up the shipping if you don't get what you wanted for your product. jeesssssh. Audra was so excited that I got this item for Kaan because it is not made anymore it is a Toy Story interactive train. So I had better get another invoice or else.

I actually left work almost on time today. I have worked enough this week. And tomorrow there will be no overtime because of the storm.

I'm getting in readiness for my trip little by little. Audra is getting excited. As are the kids. They changed the dates of blackout and my boss told me I couldn't go after I already had my tickets for a month. I said ahemmmmmmmmm I have tickets, I asked for this time in November and I didn't ask for vacation time I asked for personal time to see my ailing grandmother and to handle family business. So I'm going. The GM said Judy it's OK go. arrrrrrrgggggggg But I didn't sleep for a week because my boss said no. What a relief!

I'm still trying to get Mike's Christmas shopping done. He is just so awful to try to buy for.

So that is about it on this end. One more day and it will be the weekend yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Have a good night everyone.

:wave stay warm, and cuddle cats Connie.. better that than an owie on the road..:(..

got the apple crisp baking and then it's =sleep time for me.. I'll pack in about 10 minutes tomorrow after I get out of work.. presents for DS Vicki's kids are all wrapped, and ready to pop in Mark's truck.. we are taking his truck because on Sunday afternoon we will cut our Christmas tree on the way home.. the price is well worth it,it's cut by us fresh, and cheaper than here... and the gas evens it out.. our bestest friends Gary and Marie are joining us at "The Farm "..they are so glad to be able to join, it's been since last January they could get home with us..

I will have Mark take his new Pentax super duper fancy pancy toy it was; that came last week.. it was like - get the one your heart cannot live without, and Merry Christmas Hon!!:grin....=shrug and have HIM take photos.. not only is he better.. he likes it more..:grin.

also the "boys " will be shooting pool in my parents game room, so I may snap the boys at that.. for almost 10 years now they have a "shoot out" when the two of them *spell* Poppa.. Men and their toys GROAN>.:lol....
and I already warned Momma, DS Vicki, and Marie.. wild horses, and a promise of the entire contents of the United States Mint & Treasury CANNOT get me in to "town"...meaning Portland/South Portland for the stores, usually we trek in and hit *our stores* , as for this weekend...no bleeping way it's going to be..my main aim is R&R and I don't mean research and reconnasance!!

:(..Momma said Maine is in a world of fiscal hurt as the stores are empty, and folks not spending,, =shrug.. we start early, and finish early.. so it's not our thing..there is still 18 days to go.. hope you all have a great night.. :daisy..Joanne

I feel your pain - my "boss" tried that on me. "You can't take more than 5 consecutive days off", and you can't request time off until you have accumulated the PTO (paid time off) for those days. So I had to wait until the end of October to request the time off for the February cruise and Mike & I were leaving on 11/16 for our 10 days on the Emerald. I told them that I needed 8 days for February and I needed to know before the end of October in case we had to cancel. Lo and behold they granted the time off but I can't take more than 5 consecutive days off until 2009. What a pain... it's my time and I'll use it the way I want to ppbbbsssttttt.
