Time line????

I’ve never booked a “guaranty†before (always had a reason for needing to book a particular cabin)…
And, this is the first time I’ve cruised with Celebrity…
In the past, on other lines, I’ve never paid too much attention to when the “docs†came (although I’ve had them arrive anywhere from a mere week or so before the sail date to almost 60 days before (just after paying the balance)…

But, with 97 days or so to go and so much up in the air (we’re doing the air portion through the cruise lines as well), I’m wondering what to expect in the way of the “time lineâ€Â…

According to Celebrity, final payment is due 70 days prior…
Being on the conservative side, this means I’ll probably pay the balance about 3 weeks from now so I don’t have to worry about last minute complications…so, figure about May 16…

The cruise itself sets sail August 2, but we are doing a 2 night pre-cruise package in Venice and I figure flights from LA to Venice require leaving over a full day before arrival, so our departure date should be July 30…

What I’m trying to figure out…and what those with experience with Celebrity can help me with …is the time line between now and the cruise…

When should we know our cabin assignment?
When should we know our flight schedule?
When should we receive our docs?

You can check for a cabin assignment any time on the Celebrity webiste - just go to boarding documents and fill in your name and booking number - if you have a cabin assigned it will show.

Since you are having Celebrity book your flights, you can request custome air and choose what suits you (and pay the extra fee) or wait it out - documents usually come about 3 weeks prior to sailing (when you book air). Our last one arrived 10 days prior to sailing (air was through them.

If you don't book your air through Celebrity - they seem to arrive as much as 6-8 weeks before sailing.
