Hi,

Were leaving for our first cruise with Carnival this Sunday on the Valor and will return on the 20th in the Port of Miami. Our flight doesnt leave Ft. Lauderdale till 4PM, so we are thinking of getting a rental car company to pick us up at the Port so we can have a few more hourse to explore the Miami area. But if you can't depart the ship till about noon, then this isn't worth it and we will just hire a shuttle. Any ideas on the time range. Will like to keep the actual time open till the day of incase we want to sleep in a little.

I heard that thrifty will pick you up at the port.

Thanks,

They start debarkation at around 8am so just about everyone will be off by 10am.

Okay thanks. Looks like I have plenty of time for a rental then. Anyone know which company(s) cater to the port of miami (will provide at least free pickup from there)?

Reminder--transport between MIA and FLL will take about an hour. And your airline will want you "checking in" about two hours preflight.

Yes, I know. We really want have much time to stop. But hubby goes down for work sometimes and was thinking of showing me places he's been from the car. Just want to take the scenic route to the airport.
