Tipping and teen activity on Grand

I am wondering about tipping aboard the Grand. In the brochure it states that a $10.00 per day per person will be charged to our account, also it states that if we are using the Personal choice dining there will be a charge of $6.50 per person. Does this mean I will be paying $16.50 per person per day?

Also, how well are the teen activites on the Grand? I have a 13y/o and a 15y/o.

This is our 2nd cruise as a family (first one was Disney) and are looking forward to a "new" experience(not themed). Thank you for all your opinions!

The brochure is definitely confusing on that point. The standard auto-tip amount per day is $10/person, and that covers the dining staff and room steward. Bar drinks will be assessed a 15% tip. Do know that room service servers are not included in the auto-tip amount, so you will want to tip them when they deliver to you.

I'll leave it to someone else to comment on the teen activities :)

We were on the Grand in May and used personel Choice dining. We were charged $10.00 per person per day for tips to our account. I have no idea what the $6.50 charge in the brouchure is for ,but that is not what you pay.The $10.00 charge covers your waiter, asst.waiter, head waiter and cabin steward. I just read the brouchure and in the part about tipping all it mentions is the $10.00 charge, where are you seeing $6.50?Just curious.

I think the $6.50 comes from an old brochure. When auto-tipping first began, it just covered the dining staff at $6.50/day. In 2002, they added the room stewards as well and increased the amount to $10/day. :)
