tipping etiquette; final questions

We're 26 days away from our first cruise, on the Summit north to Alaska! This forum has been very useful; thank you!

Some final prep questions please:

On tipping:
1. When you check your bags, should you tip? If so, how much?
2. If you have a transfer and they help with your bags, should you tip? If so, how much?
3. More global question: When do you tip during the event vs. one big tip at the end? (i.e. for room service? for massages? other?)

Inclusives:
For food and drinks: everything is "free" except for soda, alcohol and Normandie surcharge, right? (or do you have to pay for Expresso? And juices? and what else??)
Use of all facilities is free, right, expect for spa services?

Dressing up:
Casual and informal nights sound fancier than we expected. Jeans and polo shirt OK?
If not, I suppose we can readily go to other food offerings like the buffet?

Thank you!

Hope this is some help

#1 - Yes usualy 1 or 2 $ per bag. If I have say 4 bags, I ususaly tip $5.00
#2 - Same answer as 1
#3 - Room steward, waiter, assistamt waiter tipping is done on the last night. Celebrity now will let you place tips on your on board account and you don't have to worry about it again. They give you a card to hand to your waiter, housboy etc.
Room service I usualy give them a couple of bucks depending on how much they bring. Just coffee, I give them $1.00

Inclusives:
You pay for soda, alcohol etc as well as they charge your onboard accound for the specialty restaurant. No further tipping is required for that. You do pay for expresso etc. but juice is provide at meals free I think (I don't drink it so I'm not sure.)
Use of facilities is free except spa treatments.

Dressing up:
Jeans and Polo shirts are never acceptable for dinner in the main dinning room. Breakfast & lunch they are OK.
Celebrity folks do tend to dress more for dinner than say Carnival and some others.
If you don't want to dress then the alternative casual dinning spot is available for a small charge.

Hope this helps.

I haven't cruise Celebrity yet but will in September and I've done tons of research about them so I can help with a few things.....

1. $1-2 per bag seems right no matter what line.
3. You should tip room service each time as you will probably not get the same person twice.

Alternative dining (buffet) has a small charge about $2.00 per person. This is the tip for the servers.

No jeans in the dining room. Slacks and a golf shirt on casual nights. Informal is what used to be called semi-formal so a jacket and tie are recommended.

Hope this helps
