Tipping for Room Service?

Hello,

I was wondering about the appropriate tipping amount for room service, for lets say, four people?

Do you guys tip by plate?

We usually give them a couple of bucks.........then again,we dont ever get full meals...........maybe coffee and continental breakfast...........or maybe a cheese plate later in the day....

We dont tip by plate.....

We just get coffee and juice in the morning, and have the delivery be our wake-up call. We tip $2.

We tip based on how much we are asking for, usually between $2 and $5.
I did read another post where folks where complaining about tipping. One poster commented, don't tip, and then don't plan on any further timely deliveries. Loved that response.
