Carnival has what is called reverse tipping, that is your tips are added to your sail and sign account (the very first entry), you can go to the pursers desk any time durning your cruise and adjust the tips up or down or have them removed and tip in cash on the last night. You may also prepay your tips before your cruise thru your TA. The prepaid tips can not be removed or adjusted. The one exception the the above is that on 2 day cruises to nowhere, tips of $20 per guest must be prepaid. The reason Carnival went to the reverse tipping is due to results of a guest survey. Personally I like the reverse tipping as I do not have to carry a lot of cash and have found service to be no different than with other methods of tipping.
