Does anyone know how much, if any, you should tip the porter who takes your luggage at the port? Is it like at the airport or included in the cost of the cruise?

Thanks.

Always tip the porters handling the bags at the port. $2. per bag is ok.---think of it as
" lost baggage insurance ".

Yes Tip them. I have heard alot of stories about what happens to the luggage of the people who did not tip! $1.00 per bag is the norm. We usually give more.

Last time I tipped a $1 a bag. The porter picked up the bags from the curb, turned around and placed them on the cart behind him, and that was that. Heck I could have done that.

Hooked , You could have done that but there is no telling when your bags might have got to the cabin with all of the contents .

Tip $2 per bag, smile, say good morning (afternoon), and thank you. You;d be surprised how it brightens up their day. I've had a few say hey lady thanx, at least you aknowledge me as a person! Some of them are real characters, especially in the Port of New York! A lot of fun to talk to.

I figure these guys work hard in the sun and I am on a luxury vacation, the least I can do is be happy about it. They do play an important role in moving the flow of luggage towards the ship. And, we all want our luggage to make it on to the ship!

I have always heard $1 a bag, but I tend to tip $2 or more depending on how friendly and helpful they are. They do work hard for little money.
