We took a cab and went to Paradise Beach. The food was good and the beach was great! Do a seach for Paradise Beach in Cozumel and you will come up with the website. For a flat fee you can use the rafts, iceburg, trampolines and snorkel gear. They have free internet at the bar also if you need to email, etc.

There are so many things to do in Cozumel if I remember correctly. We wanted to go Passion Island but the weather was iffy and I didn't want to be stuck there until it was time to return.

There is plenty of places to shop near the docks. DH loved it because there were places where he could have a cold beer while I looked around!

Here's a link to a great website on Cozumel. There's lots to do there and the shopping is great. This site should answer just about any question you might have.

I've been to Cozumel five times and headed there again in April. It's one of our favorite ports.

Cozumel is one of my favorite stops! There is so much to do there you're going to have to book another cruise so you can see more of it!

We did the Tulum Mayan Ruins tour. It is an all day excursion and it doesn't leave time for much of anything else. This excursion was paired with a stop at Xel-Ha. It's a park with beaches, snorkeling, shopping, etc. It was really nice but the snorkeling there was the worst we've ever experienced. It was a little cloudy that day so maybe that had something to do with it. The ruins were interesting, but to be honest I was getting a little bored with it until we stepped over to the water's edge that looks over the ocean. That view made it worth it! It is so beautiful! So I would recommend that.

We've also just hung out at the beach and went parasailing and rode the wave runners. The water is beautiful there! Unfortunately it's been quite a while so I don't remember which beach we were at. We did some shopping and enjoyed it very much.

I'm sure you will enjoy this stop!

I've been to Cozumel twice and both times we have done the Fury Catamarans. We just love this excursion. They take you out and let you snorkel for 30-45 minutes (I know it doesn't seem like long, but trust me, it's plenty of time). After you get back on the catamaran, they start serving beer, margaritas, and cokes. You then travel to a private beach where you will spend about an hour (complimentarty drinks here too). The ride back to the dock is always a lot of fun because everyone is dancing and having a great time. The last time we went, the whole family was there ranging in ages from 62 to 8 and everyone had a blast! The excursion lasts about 4 hours and is around $60 per person I think. I highly recommend it!

We also took a cab to Paradise beach. It was a little crowded but a lot fun and very relaxing. We made the msitake of not looking at excursions through carnival, so we spend about an hour trying to figure out what to do! my personal experience would have me tell you to make sure and have an excursion to go on at each port, if you arent very good at getting around in a foreign place (like my and my fam lol)

Kathy, I made the misteak of letting my DW pick the excursions. She, in turn, let my 2 step kids pick them. Next think I know, were signed up for a 90 minute submarine ride on the Atlantis something or other. At first I wasn't real haapy with the pick, but then I saw the time and realized we'll have alot of the day left for other things. Well, I picked the other things and we will be spending a few hours at Paradise Beach.

Hi!
I have been to cozumel. I had a blast. We did not do any excursions. When you get to the port FYI most of stuff there is cheaper than the town. This is one of my favorite places. They have a state park called (i think) changonknob (spelled wrong). You can take a taxi ride right to there. I think is was 6.00. And then a 1.00 to get in. The taxis are located right outside the port. And they can take you to a ton of places.
Once you are in (park), you can get snorkle gear, place to eat, even a mini mayan ruins. (well replicas). If you are looking to do the dolphin excursion, this is were they will be taking you. Same price if you even just walk over there yourself. There are always taxis running. So dont get scared you can see the boat the whole time.
We got bored and decided to go to town. THis was my favorite place to shop. I am very cheap so, i love to bargin! LOL! Any ways, you can take the taxi to the begining of the strip and catch a taxi back the ship anytime! We spent a total of 20.00 (including tip) for all of that. We even got so tired of walking into all the shops we went back early.
What cruise are you goin on? What other islands? I can tell abit about some if you like. Email me back.

I went to Paradise Island on an excursion it lasts around 6 hrs. You have lunch on the island. Its lots of fun. The last time I was their I just went shopping in town. There are always lots of bargins never take the first price they offer, they will come down off their initial price!

Well here is a suggestion I wish I had known when I first went to Coz..
If you rent a car and decide to see the island yourself.. turn left We drove for miles and didn't see anything!!

There are some nice beaches out where we drove but not having been there before it took us a while to figure out where they were.

Just got back last week. Carnival Triumph 3/17-3/24. Cozumel was ok
a few bars here and there. tons of jewelery stores and an assortment
of other shops. We went on the power boat beach break excursion
(excursion from hell). Everyone was transported to the beach area
where we recieved our safty instruction and our boats. You were
to follow the leader single file. About 18 boats in all.
shoud be a blast. I grew up driving boats in Michigan and indiana
lakes, and in the gulf of Mexico around Bradenton fl.
Marco our guide informs us It wil be a little choppy today! Uhmm ok.
We all head out single file and after getting a ways from shore
I would agree it was choppy. OH Holy crap!! as we come to a point
the waves instantly turned from small chop to swells with 3-5 foot
waves. The first one cought me off guard and we just about
became a submarine. Then I just needed to remember keep into the
waves head on. Hard to do and keep up. We were airborn atleast 20
times and we could here screams
coming from the othe boats too. We finally made it to
the beach and when I throttled back the motor it dies. We are
at least a 100 yard from shore and my Wife is sure we are going to
be eaten by sharks. I tried to prime and PULL START the motor
but no joy. After a while one of the chase boats came buy and got it started. after a few waves slapped water in our faces.
Finally on the beach. It was the most awsome blue you could imagine.
very cool place to regain ones composure. Because We have to
go back the way we just came, like running the gauntlett with
huge waves. This would be a really good excursion if the breezes are
lite. also cozumel still is cleaning up and some rebuilding from
the huricanes. Same with Grand Cayman East end. There we rented a
Jeep and drove the long loop to Rum Point Beach. Beautiful place.
not enough time to really enjoy it, have to head back to get on the
ship. Waited in line for a tender about half hour to forty minutes.

I got to agree on the national park, somuch to do, good food, the fish were unbeleivable. Grab a chair in the shade take a nap. Sorkle some more, showers are nice. Good rest room. Watch the dolphins. I can't wait to go back, it was so relaxing, but we really loved the catamarans too. WOn't go either way again and again, Pat

We always go to the beach in Cozumel. We just take a cab to the beach and spend the day there. There is shopping right off the pier when you get to Cozumel. I recommend you buy some vanilla for sure.

One thing we have learned on our cruises is to research every port and if possible, book excursions through local tour guides as opposed to the ship (but make sure you get recommendations for local tour guides before booking). The ship excursions are really expensive and there's always way too many people on them.
