Hi everyone.

I'm very excited about going to Dunn's Falls with Peat Taylor on my up-coming cruise! :grin

I just want to make sure I tip everyone appropriately. What is a sufficient amount to give the guide who takes you through the falls; and what is appropriate to give Peat when he drops us back off at the ship? Oh, there will be two of us!

Thank you.

There were 7 of us with Peat in May of 2001. We tipped the guide at the falls $20 and he seemed disappointed. Seemed fair to me for 40 minutes of his time. Not sure if we tipped Peat. From what I have read, some do, some don't. He certainly earns whatever he gets in my opinion. Great guy!

We used Peat Taylor last year. Peat dropped us off at the Falls early and we did not use a guide for the Falls.

You don't really need one. We had more fun doing it on our own. The guides are only interested in the fastest way through the falls so they can get as many tips throughout the day as possible. It was much more fun doing it on our own. We are in our 40's and had problem without the guide. We helped each other, took ur time, took pictures, and enjoyed the climb without a guide.

As for Peat, we found him to be extremely worth the money he charges for his tour. He was great!! There was 4 of us and we tipped him an extra $7.00pp when e dropped us at the ship. We could not have been more pleased with his tour or his company. He is very friendly and very informative. We just loved that tour. Would not use anyone else when in Jamaica.

We tipped Peat $5 pp (there were 4 of us, so $20 total) I know we tipped the guides at Dunn's Falls but I can't remember how much. Maybe $3 each?
