Simon has a vet appt!

This is just a preliminary. First off will be the flv test, which they say will only take 8 minutes. Then a fecal check, deworming and flea and ear mite treatments. If he passes all of this, I will be able to bring him inside and take him back later for his altering.

I chose my old vet, one I dearly loved. This man really cares for the animals he treats. And his prices are lower than anyone else I found, which helps. ONce I moved, the half hour drive away became the reason I quit going to him. My cats do not travel well. They scream a lot.

I am concerned about two things, he has a bump on his spine, just before his hips. I think it is just a scar, I know of one cat fight he was in. The other is more worrisome. His lower jaw has what looks like two teeth growing forward. They are discolored, but apparently do not cause him any pain.

Imagine this, Several days ago I could not even touch him. Today, he climbed in my lap, purred, rubbed, kneeded, let me hold him belly up in my arms and look in his mouth. I held him up, he stared and stared into my face, like he was checking me out to make sure I would take care of him. Then we played. He is a little rascal and wanted to wrestle. It is so funny, if I move suddenly, he still hisses, then comes for petting. This whole thing just amazes me.

If he does not pass the flv test, we will just leave the vet, and I think for now I will bring him home, and try to find a rescue group that will take him. That thought breaks my heart.

Pucci wishes Simon the best of luck!

With dogs, when they roll over and have their tummy up, it's a sign of submission and trust. I hope it's the same with kitties.

Please keep us posted. Hope Simon passes all his tests with flying colors.

Oh I'm so praying that Simon does not have feline leukemia. He is young and hasn't been out too long so I pray he is OK. He sounds like he really is in love with you Connie.
