Tours of High-End Suites

I've been reading a couple reviews with pictures and they always seem to have pictures of lots of people touring those ROyal and Owner Suites. Moreover, inside the suite, there is a sign put up by the cruise line that identifies that suite, i.e. "Royal Suite." Were those suites just not occupied for that cruising?

On a seperate note, if those rooms are not occupied at boarding, do guests have to pay the full fare difference to upgrade from a lower category, or is the upgrade price significantly discounted from the difference in list price???

The pics you see are probably taken by a TA while on a special tour for TAs.....thats why the signs in the cabins............

If you can upgrade,it is much cheaper to do it at the port, but most times the ships are sold out without any chance of upgrade........

=yeah We were on the Voyager of the Seas inaugural 2 night CTN when she started service from Cape Liberty. It was limited to invited guests...mostly travel agents and local dignataries. They had one of each type of cabin open for inspection and we took lots of pictures. I must say the Royal Suite was impressive!

If you want to have a look at some of the ships here is a great website for virtual tours.

Tours are possible. I took three last year and have already taken one this year and will be on another one this Saturday. Getting a tour of the cabin is difficult, as you cannot tour it if there is a guest in it. Thus we always tour the cabins first, then eat, then tour the public places. The Royal Suite is very popular and most like is sold for every cruise.
