Tours on Cayman Islands

Wondering if anybody has any ideas for a tour for the lovely wife to take on the Caymans while I'm scuba diving? She's thinking about taking an island bus tour but doesn't know if it's worth the price?

The bus tours are very nice and give a good overview of what's where. Make sure you go to H*ll, and make a stop at the turtle farm. I also highly recommend swimming with the stingrays! Very safe and a most memorable experience...

Good advice Calgon. I couldn't agree more.

If she is going on her own, she should do an organized tour. Remember, safety in numbers.

The three tours suggested are good ones. They are also about the only things to do on Grand Cayman other than shop, eat, or water activities. We've been there 4 or 5 times and now we just stay on board and enjoy the quietness of the ship, but by all means do those, especially the Sting Ray swim. It is one of the most interesting tours of any island.

We had one of the best excursions we've had on any cruise we've been on at Grand Cayman. She wouldn't be able to do this without you (unless you have a group that she can share with)........or for future reference, but we took a Jeep excursion. It was absolutely wonderful! We went in a caravan of other folks from the cruise ship, but we all drove our own Jeep. The leader was the tour guide in the first Jeep and the following Jeeps (about 6 more) were us, and 5 other people who also booked this excursion. They took us driving all along the coast of Cayman. We stopped at a Rum factory, a store, then atop a beautiful cliff where there was volcanic rock and spectacular views where I got beautiful camera shots of the water, cliffs and the rocks. From there we drove more along the coast and then to a beautiful beach where we got to spend a good 3 hours in crystal clear water which was warm as bath water. It was truly a slice of heaven! It also made for one of my all-time best excursions I've ever done in all of the Caribbean. Who knows? Maybe you'd prefer this over scuba diving? Your lovely wife would love it!
Have a great time. (P.S. I would never opt to stay on the ship when going to Cayman).

It will depend on what she likes to do and what she wants to see.

A not-to-miss in my book is a trip to Stingray City! Yes, sometimes it crowded, and yes, its a bit of a boat ride, but it is an experience of a lifetime. The sand bar is shallow - waist to under the armpit depth - but some of the most squeamish folks may not like this.
