On Facebook Princess page someone posted about a 21 day trip on the Ruby... repositioning cruise....
"I have been on a cruise from Rome to Manaus in Dec. 2009. Repositioning cruises are not as expensive a "normal" . I wonder if it is right that the food service has a lower standard?
I have been on Princess cruises before and I just loved the food as everything else. But the Transatlantic cruise was not up to my expectations. At our dinner table we had to return several times our main meals, as the quality and presentaion was no good. After about 5 days, we ran out of pineapple and other fresh fruit. We stopped at different ports along the coast of Africa, why did they not restock?? After app. 10 days the Chef stopped at our table and we let him know that we were not very happy with the food, he told us, that it is very challanging to come up with different menues on a 21 day cruise. How on earth does he cope on over 100 day world-cruise?? On our last days on the Amazonas, we had bananas and apple on the buffet, which were in a very unappitizing stage and most of the cooked food, was left overs from the previous days. "
This has me very concerned - has anyone else heard something like this? This is my first cruise, taking my daughter - and because I just booked it I can change my vacation plans.
Additionally - there were only 3 rooms left - and those were interior - we are on a Wait List with 6 in front of us for balcony / mini suite. I did so want a balcony and now I'm rethinking my trip due to room and food.
Ruby Princess - Transatlantic - leaves Sept 26 from Barcelona
