I think this is a copy and paste of a Facebook Princess review.......
On Facebook Princess page someone posted about a 21 day trip on the Ruby... repositioning cruise....
"I have been on a cruise from Rome to Manaus in Dec. 2009. Repositioning cruises are not as expensive a "normal" . I wonder if it is right that the food service has a lower standard?
I have been on Princess cruises before and I just loved the food as everything else. But the Transatlantic cruise was not up to my expectations. At our dinner table we had to return several times our main meals, as the quality and presentaion was no good. After about 5 days, we ran out of pineapple and other fresh fruit. We stopped at different ports along the coast of Africa, why did they not restock?? After app. 10 days the Chef stopped at our table and we let him know that we were not very happy with the food, he told us, that it is very challanging to come up with different menues on a 21 day cruise. How on earth does he cope on over 100 day world-cruise?? On our last days on the Amazonas, we had bananas and apple on the buffet, which were in a very unappitizing stage and most of the cooked food, was left overs from the previous days. "
and the poster is concerned about the review......
so now she's asking our input on the matter, and how much stock to put in it...as she has her *FIRST PRINCESS CRUISE*..booked, and questioning it "happening again"..with all the time and money built in..and she can move to another *type* booking..
personally having not done a TA cruise ..I am not in a real position to comment on it..
after 13 Princess cruises I can truthfully say food has NEVER been an issue for Mark and I..sigh...5 pounds *always* finds it's way to my caboose no matter how much I walk all over the blasted ship..
.but then again their Italian cuisine for the most part mirrors what I make from scratch!!..LOL...and I am a baking Queen but their desserts/ breads are to die for...JMHO...
.good luck with research....
