We just returned from sailing the Triumph and had a great time. There has been alot written on web sites about stains in the carpets. We asked the pursar about this and he said it is from problems with the machine they use to shampoo the carpets, which leaves an effect that looks like stains. He said they've ordered a new shampoo system which should eliminate that problem.
We got very good service throughout the ship, and really enjoyed teh cruise director, John Heald, who's well known in the industry. He just came back to the Triumph but retires in November, to get married. So, enjoy him. We also really enjoyed the two main shows in the Rome Lounge. Didn't get to the late comedy shows, so can't comment on that.
We sailed the Paradise last year and also had a great time. Expect friendly service, glitzy, but not tacky atmosphere (except for the chandelier in the Rome Lounge - very funky.) We had wonderful cabin service. If you like to drink, there is always a drink-of-the-day special for $2.95. Just make sure you order it in a regular glass or they'll put it in a souvenir glass, and charge you $7.25.
There is a pool in the aft of the ship with a sliding cover, in case it's cold. (YOu probably won't have that problem in APril.) There are a few tables in this area where you can eat and still essentially be outside. One of the few areas on the ship to do this.
WE had a blast. Just enjoy yourself, and don't be upset by small nitpicky problems. It's a great experience. We're going to cruise every year, budget allowing...
