Trust Princess about beds??

Was in the cruise personalizer this morning and saw in my booking summary that the bed configuration for my room was listed as non-converting twins.

I called Princess and they said the web site was wrong. All of their twin beds convert.

I am booked in B215 on the Island Princess for the 15-day round trip to Hawaii. I will be more than upset if the beds don't convert.

Should I trust Princess? Does anybody out there know for sure?

I have not been on that particular ship, but this topic has been brought up about them before. Maybe someone who has been in that category can help..... but I would bet they will in fact convert. If you are traveling with 3 or 4 in your cabin, sometimes they hesitate to convert them only because it becomes less convenient (or maybe less technically safe) when the upper berths are down. Try posting this in the community board section too, maybe someone who has been in this category will know.

I haven't been on the Island Princess either, however, I had the same issue for our trip on the Diamond Princess. I called Princess and the customer service person just changed the bed configuration to a "queen" in their computer system. The PIF online immediately changed from "non-converting twin" to "queen". My guess is that the only "converting" beds they have are the sleeper sofas in the suite rooms. Thus, all the other beds are "non-converting"??? I'm also guessing that the bed configuration status only helps their ship's staff know if they should push the beds together or not. Just my guesses.

Same here. I just e-mailed the TA and she took care of it with Princess. Now, on the cruise personalizer, it says queen.

I haven't been on the Island but I know that for my 3/7/04 Dawn cruise, our personalizer said non-converting twin beds but when we got onboard they were pushed together for into a queen. We didn't have to talk to our TA or Princess, but it may have just been luck.

All I know is that after insisting to my TA that we would NOT be happy if on our honeymoon we wound up sleeping in seperate beds OR even if we had to wait several hours for them to be converted, when I look on the personalizer now, it says 'queen'

That means the bridezilla is happy..
:O)
Happy travels!

Was on the Island Princess in Feb. Personalizer said non- converting. Simply asked the room steward to push the beds together which he did for the first night. Not a problem but Princess should have it right on the Personalizer so one doesn't have to ask.

Same thing happened to me......I am on the Dawn and it said on the Personalizer that it was non-converting twins....but the deck plans did not mark that cabin as that way. I called Princess and asked about it - they told me it was a quirk of the cruise personalizer and they fixed it for me immediately. No problems.
