I've read from time to time about the Ultimate Balcony Breakfast. What is this, what is included and what does it cost?

Thanks.

I always end up tossing the little ad for the Ultimate Balcony Breakfast that is delivered to your cabin but I believe the price is about $25.00. You get a half bottle of champagne, juice, fruit, quiche, bagels, smoked salmon, coffee/tea etc. Can't remember anything else at the moment. Next cruise I'm going to hang on to that piece of paper though because people quite often ask about it!

Here is what that ad says:
If you prefer a leisurely morning, then opt for the Champagne Breakfast for Two on your balcony. You'll relish the warm basket of homemade pastries; smoked Copper River salmon with lingonberry cream cheese and toasted lemon brioche; medley of fresh fruit and forest berries accompanied by a citrus chantilly crème; bacon and onion quiche Lorraine topped with tomato and fontina cheese gratin; and a half bottle of chilled French champagne. All this is deliciously priced at $25 per couple.

Anybody ever had it? Is it worth it? I am happy with scrambled eggs and bacon in the mornings, but these offerings, esp the quiche and the salmon sound good. Can you get that fare elsewhere on the ship?

All of it is available at various places on the ship....just not every day and not necessarily in the same place, and not with a split of Champagne! For a very special occassion I might try it....but please leave the smoked salmon in the kitchen!!

I just don't get paying so much for a meal with a name. Sure the Champagne costs money, so some people might like that (not me). But room service, albeit a limited menu, is still free. And if I want the fancier food, I'll go to the dining room.

It just seems to me that, other than the champagne and the name, you'd be paying twenty five dollars for the privledge of getting dressed after breakfast, instead of before. =huh

=yeah I feel the same way. And I don't drink in the morning, so the champagne would be lost on me! Just wondered because the meal sounds really good, so wanted to see if those items were available anywhere else. Sounds like sommething fun and nice to do for newlyweds...might even be a nice Bon Voyage gift for someone! :idea

We did this on our Sea Princess cruise, and it was really super. It was a "gift" from our TA at the time. I agree with the champagne, but my wife loves the salmon. There is enough food for 4 people, or at least there was in the past. Thanks for reminding me of this feature, for I will do this on our up coming November 26th Emerald cruise. Might also try the dinner for two on the veranda.........baffles

Heck ... Perhaps I can start up my own service as I already have the Bagels. =shrug I will just substitute Bloody Mary's in place of the Champagne and reduce the fee to $20 per couple. :grin

Guess we are sorta like Gayle in that its VERY nice to have a leisurely balcony breakfast but the options available on the daily breakie menu suffice for US. :thumb
