Update 2 on my friend Angela

I FINALLY got to talk to Angela last night. She sounded so much better, but she's not doing that much better.

The transplant is still off for now The virus causing her issues has not been identified yet. They say that she has a "pneumonia like mass" in her lungs, and tried to do a bronchioscopy (if that's the correct wording) yesterday to check it out and grab a piece of it, but her nose and throat is so tiny (she's very petite) that they had to postpone it to order a pediatric unit. She is getting massive amounts of antibiotics. She is still in quarantine, and she said there is some kind of a unit attached to her room door that filters the air. Only certain people allowed in her room, and they have to scrub down and put on sterile clothing to enter. No cards allowed, so I can make them but I can't send them. I do send pictures of them, though! LOL.

Please continue to include her in your prayers.

Glo,

Does Angela live in, or travel to, the San Fernando Valley...or Arizona, New Mexico, West Texas?

If yes, has she been tested for Coccidiodomycosis, Cocci (pronounced coxsee), aka Valley Fever?

Nope, she lives very close to me. Travel? She wants to book a Disney cruise badly, but she only gets to travel to the doctors. When I can, I take her on "field trips" to different scrap book stores, or places like Williams Sonoma (she's a foodie) or out for lunch, but it's difficult because she can only walk a very short distance without getting very very worn out. Cancer is an ugly disease.

So sorry to hear of all these problems. Hopefully they find out what is wrong and can start her treatments.

Angela is home, but I have yet to be able to talk to her much. She says she is OK, but knowing her, that means she is not doing well and won't share. I have to flat out ask her to tell me the truth before she will. sigh...

Hopes that she can continue on for a while more. Her 8 year old needs her!

Angela is home, but I can't see her. She says her immune system is still to weak, and she is not feeling very good. sigh...

GB......I have been away ..... I am so hoping that Angela can build back her necessary strength and still have the procedure. Soooo close, it must be crushing her. Sending lots of positive thoughts her direction. I'm sure she wants to see you as much as you want to see/hug and be there for her. HUGS!
