Update, Elliott's liver isn't behaving properly

This was Cindy's later update on Elliott's progress.

Well, the good news was posted. The neat thing is that the cells probably appeared on his birthday. So appropriate. At the moment we have two concerns. One is Elliott’s bathroom issues. He has problems due to the shedding of his stomach lining, or something like that. Anyway, without going into detail, his underwear usually has to be thrown away after an incident. I have bought some new but cannot afford to keep replacing it. So if you have been thinking of what you can send to help out, we need underpants. Boxer briefs, size M. Desperete for them is an understatement J Our other concern is a little more distressing. It has to do with his liver. His bilirubin is at 9 today, should be under 2. It has gone up since yesterday L

If this cannot be controlled it can become very serious indeed. We are optimistic though because the doctor said every other organ seems to be doing ok and if this problem he has gets worse, it could shut them all down. So until he is home we are going to have a mixture of good and bad news. Santa and Ronald McDonald was here today. Of course Elliott does not get to see them but he got a bell necklace. Tomorrow the boy in Hannah Montana is going to be here and no, not Billy Ray. We Thank you all for you birthday wishes. He got over 35 cards and many messages. I think he enjoyed his birthday the best he could. He has been eating sherbet today and trying every drink known to man. It is a slow process but it is encouraging.

Well, we are waiting on his platelet transfusion and the arrival of the snow.

If anything else happens, I will update tonight. Please pray for better liver function and the continued growth of cells. And also better oxygen levels.

My goodness, with all the ups and down, that family must feel like they're on some dreadful roller coaster ride. Prayers continue.

Oh I hope this is only a tiny bump and that Elliott can turn around quickly.
