Update on my brother, 25th June

Well, the tumour is the worst possible, according to the sources at the hospital.....Multifocal Glioblastoma Multiforme, or GMB. Duncan starts radiation and chemo on Monday. This is a very painful journey for all our family.
Rick and I are here for moral support, and whatever jobs might need doing.
Duncan and his beautiful fiance Lyn are planning to get married on 11th July. We are hoping the treatments don't interfere with these plans.

Duncan also asked me to thank all you fine @ddicts for all your prayers and support, and to tell you that he is going to FIGHT with all he has to beat this monster. He is dozing now, after a busy day with all the help arriving on the doorstep.

So, on behalf of Duncan and Lyn, and myself, mum and Rick, thankyou kind @ddicts for all your positive thoughts and prayers.

I am so sorry that the news is so bad. Having been thru this with a loved one (my mother with pancreatic cancer), I know the difficult journey you are facing. Wishing the best that the treatments he receives will help & so happy that he is continuing with his wedding plans.

Jill, I am so sorry to hear your brother's diagnosis. This will be a painful journey for your brother and his fiance and his loved ones. It's wonderful that they are going to keep their wedding plans! It will be a joyous event. Prayers that his chemo and radiation result in a longer healthier time to spend with loved ones.

Jill - Duncan's diagnosis is heartbreaking. I know a person (whom you've met) who has successfully beaten her brain tumor for years. I pray the same for Duncon. I hope the wedding can be performed July 11th, with best wishes to bride and groom.

Hugs to you and your family - may the news get better. A special hug to Mum.

More hugs, prayers, and good thoughts are on the way. I was just sick to see your brother's diagnosis, but a will to live and a bit of Heavenly Help work wonders. I hope Duncan won't mind if I keep him on our church prayer list until he no longer needs it, and I wish we could be with you to give you all a big hug.

I am overwhelmed by all your good wishes, and I am hoping they will help Duncan. He has moments of despair, then moments of positivity. He is in good spirits a lot of the time, but then lapses into dark thoughts. I cannot begin to imagine what is going on in his head, even though he tries to explain.
When we lost Rick's brother suddenly, it was very tragic and we were completely lost.
This is similar but different. Hard to explain. With Chris it was sudden, tragic, horrible.
With Duncan it is horrible, but we seem to have time to discuss his demise, his funeral.................... this I find quite distressing.

Bugger, we are coping as well as we can, and I think Duncan and Lyn appreciate the hugs and support from family and friends, including all our overseas relatives and friends.

Thank you everyone.

Jill, when you lose someone suddenly it seems to be harder on the family because of no warning, things left unsaid or unresolved, no time for goodbyes. When someone has time to prepare there is time to show how much someone meant to you, resolve things and to say those goodbyes. Either way, it's bugger as you say.

I feel for you all having to go thru this, we have ourselves many times. My husband Jules has lost 2 siblings to cancer. (((HUGS)))
