Valor/Dream/Ports

Deck Crew
Carnival Valor out of Miami-Grand Cayman
Belize
Cozumel
Isla Roatan
Carnival Dream out of Port Canaveral- Costa May instead of Grand Cayman other 3 ports are the same.
Only a few hundred dollar price difference.
Thought we would like Cayman better than Costa Maya, but thought newer ship would be better. Go for newer ship or port change? Opinions on ships and ports appreciated.
We are in our early 40's with two kids, 7 & 11.
:thankyou:

We sailed on the Valor back in 06 on that same itenerary...costa maya was simply ok...unless you like to see the ruins, then it would be a good port for that. Roatan was breathtaking once you get away from the ship. (we went to fosters beach on an independent tour bout 30 min ride beach was beautiful is resortish with cabanas we took a 2 hour horseback ride the resort, taxi and horseback was all owned by one family back then and the ride went through acres and acres of land including the beach for 40pp) Belize was just as wonderful as belize booked off ship to go snorkeling with rays and nursesharks as well as on the great reef in ambergis caye. was amazing. cozumel is also good been there back in 1999 and returnign this year also a great place to see the ruins from. Grand Caymen has stingray city with waist high water and numerous rays and 7 mile beach is great for shore snorkeling (cost us less than 20.00 to get there by bus) the Valor is a great ship and we loved it...This year we are doing the inspiration though...Never done the dream so couldnt tell you much aboout her....Anyway hope you enjoy whichever ship you choose!

Go with the newer ship. Grand Cayman is a tender port and the ship will not dock there if the weather is bad. Thus, if the weather is bad, you will miss out on the only reason you choose this cruise over the other cruise.
