Hello Everyone

We are currently booked on the Valor in a 8B room, we are conteplating moving to 9A but on the 8455 and 8448 it looks like in some pictures that they have shade from the overhang, has anyone stayed in these and if so can you share your thoughts and stories.

Thanks
Denise and Gerald

We have never stayed in these rooms but I have heard nothing but great things about these corner balcony rooms. We are sailing on the Valor in April and are staying in a regular balcony cabin. We booked over a year in advance and chose these cabins. Next cruise I will definately look into staying in the ones you have. I'm sure you will love having the large balcony and I've heard the views from the back of the ship are great!

I am booked on the Valor for the February 26th sailing and have room 8455.... I was upgraded by Carnival to this room.... can't wait to see it...
I hope the balcony is not in the shade, but I will let you know when we get back.

Depends on what cabin you have in the 8B. We have 7434 on the Liberty and I would stay there before i moved to the 9A at 600 more for our cruise.

I dont know what kindof overhang you are talking about but I dont see any.

I personally dont like that deck. Prefer deck 7.

My wife and I are booked on the Valor for the March 26, 2006 cruise. We tried to book a 9A cabin, but were told we have to have at least 3 people for the 9A. So we booked 8457, an 8C, right next door. It's an aft balcony cabin. We've had them before and are spoiled.

Oddly enough, we booked a mediterrainian(sp) cruise on the Liberty for Oct. 10, 2006, and they offerred us the 9A. You can't go wrong with either. However, the pictures show the 9A appears to be much larger and a larger balcony. I guess it depends on how many bucks you want to spend.

A lot of cruisers say the cabins not important, 'cause you're only there to change and sleep. In our case, anyway, I've found the opposite to be true. The peace and quite of the cabin and the bacony are a large part of our vacation. We find it very relaxing just to sit on the balcony and watch, or even just listen to the wake.

Great question! We will be on our 1st cruise aboard the Valor in December. I guess I am curious as to how one would know if a particular room has a shady spot on the balcony or not?

We did the balcony guarantee option, we figure we won't be dissappointed anywhere we end up. We are just thrilled to be going on a cruise at all :) I would love to sneak a peak at some of the rooms though, if there is an easy way to do so (beyond the pics carnival provides for a general balcony rooms).

Happy cruising!

heather-- take a look at www.cruiseclues.com scorll down the left side and click on the ship you want to see.
there is a site called cruisestaterooms.com but I can tell you that the site is not always 100% correct for certain cabins.

another view is to look on webshots.com

We just got back Sunday from the Valor sailing 2/26/06. We had stateroom #8455. It was larger than a regular balcony room (8E), but it was cut up. The room next door #8449 (I think) was much larger, but our balcony was a wrap around. Theirs was larger than regular balcony but not like ours. We did sun on it one day as all of the chairs by the pool were being saved. That only lasted a couple of hours as the overhang caused shade. We also had a water drip from above so there was a spot that you couldn't sit in.. but all and all it was a very nice room and we loved the balcony. I will try to post some photo's this weekend of the room/balcony.

We are booked on the Destiny 8333 on 4/30 and this is an aft cabin with a wrap balcony, I am so thrilled that this location was available, we only booked 3 weeks ago and from what I have read these cabins are usually gone far in advance. Not sure if someone cancelled or upgraded to make this one available.
