Vancouver to Seattle

I am thinking of booking RT airfare to Seattle and then a one way Seattle to Anchorage. My cruise ends in Vancouver, where we will be spending a some post cruise days. I know there are shuttle buses from Vancouver to Seattle, and that I could also rent a car. I am hoping someone out there has done either of these and can give me some info on how long it takes, how much $$, does it take too long, a hassle......

Thanks,

Do not rule out getting a decent fair going to one city, and returning from the other. Vancouver probably will be expensive no matter what you do. Check the online web sites for fare examples.

From Vancouver to SEA you can take shuttle buses, rent a car or take the train. Do a search or scan backc through the older messages and you will see lots of people that have taken different options.

We have rented a car several times in both directions. It is much better because you can get a 1 way rental rate from 1 of the larger rental companies. Flying into Vancouver has always been too much for us versus roundtrip to seattle.

I'm going rt from Vancouver in July on NCL and was concerned with having to overnight or red eye on the return. I don't think there is enough time to get docked and disembark and then get from Vancouver to Seattle for a flight. I'm going to the midwest so any decent flight leaves before noon.

Hi, Debra. I am looking at a similar situation in June. I found some good bus/train info online. Here are the links:

http://www.greyhound.ca/
http://www.cantrail.com/city.html

I haven't checked into renting a car yet, but the bus & train fares are reasonable. I'll keep in touch with this thread and add more if I find anything else. There is probably ferry transfer, too, but not sure if we want to do that after a 7 day cruise. ;-)

Good luck!

There are no Ferrys from Vancouver to Seattle other than if you go to Vancouver Island, Victoria and then across to Port Angeles Wa.. Amtrack has one train a day and it is not a "Fast" trip but is quite senic depending on the time of year and daylite. (It has been in the evening) From the Port of Vancouver to Seattle (SeaTAc) which is actually south of the city I would count on needing at least 5 hours ahead of your flt. (Thats everything in.. border traffic aiport etc.) But its the same as travelling through larger cities anywhere at the wrong time when traffic is or could be an issue. The highway between is just great 4/6 lanes all the way.
