Has anyone sailed on victory taking the canada trip. We are scheduled on this trip next year. We usually stay away from Carnival, but we could get a balcony and still pay less than rcl.

My wife and I and our two teenage boys were on the Victory in July 2001 for a cruise to Canada. We had two cabins - ours a Cat. 12 with balcony and theirs a standard outside cabin. We all enjoyed the cruise, the balcony, and the ship. My wife and I have been on a number of cruises and this was one of the better ones both for the ports and the ship itself. Even though it is a large ship, we never felt crowded. The crew was helpful and pleasant and the food good.

We have sailed both RCCL and Carnival and, in general, prefer Carnival. Especially if you can get a balcony cabin at a good price, I think that you will find it an enjoyable cruise.

If you have any specific questions, I'd be glad to try to answer them.

We have cruised on the Victory and the Triumph - which were both 5 day cruises to
Halifax and St John. Both departed from NYC. We went late Sept both times but
the last cruise the weather turned cold & rainey and the balcony (wrap-around)
was not enjoyed as much as the other trip. These ports were very enjoyable and
we would do this itinerary again - but perhaps in early August.
Some people disliked the color scheme of the Victory - too much green - but I
personally liked the decor which was themed to the seas.

We went in May 2001 and it was 39 degrees on deck. Much too cold for balcony use. All depends on when you go.

I sailed that itinerary on the Victory Jun01. I have a review posted on this site.

Enjoy the journey!
