Just returned from northbound inside passage on Vision with a deck 7 balcony about 6-8 cabins aft of the centrum. About an hour after departing Vancouver, I started noticing quite a vibration in the floor. I had a vase of flowers on the coffee table that was shaking pretty good. This vibration was present the entire trip, even in glass smooth seas. The bartender at the Schooner Bar said he didn't feel anything until I showed him how much his display drinks were shaking. The first night it was so bad that I was having difficulty getting to sleep.
It was about 2-3 cylces per second that would correspond with the turn frequency of the screws. At the Captain's reception I asked him about it and he said it was due to the ship turning right and left. Sorry Captain, try another one. I spent a stint associated with "Uncle Sam's cruise line" and that explanation won't fly. The Chief Engineer lowered his eyes and turned his head away so as not to respond when I asked him.
I know Vision bent a prop last summer I believe at Hubbard and is scheduled to be lengthened and refurbished next year so maybe this is left over from that incident and they haven't fixed it for that reason.
Has anybody else noticed this who has sailed Vision recently? Something was very out-of-balance.
