Visiting St Lucia

We are doing the Caribbean on Ruby Princess in march. Booked the Tree Canopy Zip Line Tour. Real question is will we see the Pitons on the way ? Can you see the Pitons from the ship ? As much as we want to do the zip line, I am intrigued by the beauty of St Lucia, and wondering if there is a way to really see the Pitons, Marigot Bay, etc, while still going on the Canopy zip line.??

I am not sure where the zip lining is held but can guarantee you will not see the Pitons from the ship. It is a ways away from the cruise dock and my bet is that unless you hire a driver to take you out that direction you won't see them at all. It is a very slow ride out to see them and when we went it took most of the day.

WE have been to St Lucia a couple of times and never seen them.

We have been there a few times, and saw the Pitons by car, as snowblower said, it took a good part of the day. We have also seen then via a catamaran.. and that is really the best way in our opinion.
We went into the bay near them, and villagers came out to sell conch shells etc.
It was a beautiful day.
a few of these links may help you.
this first is one that Einstein posted on the group cruise board, as we are going there in a few weeks.

This is a beautiful island, with so many things to do.
We have done an island tour with a car and driver we rented ourselves, went to the Batik factory, went to Marigot bay.. I am looking forward to going back there in three short weeks.

St Lucia is a beautiful island - it is my opinion also, seeing the Pitons via a catamaran is the best way

I also have to agree with Red and Jeannie that a catamarran is the best way to see the Pitons. We did this and it was a great trip. So much so, that my son is going to St.Lucia for his honeymoon. I guess for him especially, it is he perfect island. Enjoy your day there. I can't wait to go back someday.

I agree, that is the best and really only way to see the island, but, I will also add (long story) we did not share some of your opinions on the island. There are many Caribbean Islands we love, St Luscia is not one to them.
