Anyone do any walking tours in Barcelona or some cooking tours, olive oil/wine tours? Interested in doing more than shopping.

A bit of advice...get a copy of the AAA Spiral Guide--Barcelona...the maps and pictures are great and it lays out many good walking tour itineraries...

The best thing to do in Barcelona is to visit the Gaudi sites...
Antonio Gaudi was one of the great artist/archetects of the last century and a half...a genius and a madman...and Barcelona was his home...the City is a virtual monument to his genius...

ABSOLUTELY DO NOT MISS the Sagrada Familia...It is the one building in Europe you will never forget...
And, depending on time...or even if you have little time...visit the Casa Battlo, Casa Mila and Park Guell...

Casa Battlo is a private residence designed by Gaudi with no right angles and no straight lines...the windows look like fish's mouths...Strange and wonderful...

Casa Mila is a Gaudi Apartment house...You can tour an apartment decorated as it was in the 1920s, wander through a Gaudi Museum and explore the fairy-tale-like mosaic roof...

Park Guell is simply a fantasyland park...where Gaudi himself lived...Famous are the Mosaic Lizard astride the fountain on the stairway, the undulating moasic benches, the strange columns and the fairytale guardhouses...Nothing like it anywhere in the world...

BruinSteve,
do you have to be a AAA member to get the guides? That is a great idea. I used them on a cross country trip from Seattle to Nashville, but didn't realize that they also offered maps for outside the US! Thanks
