We drove to San Diego to visit my Mom yesterday.

She is 80 yrs old. She's in a home and bed ridden. She has very bad dementia. Something funny did happen. I asked her "Mom do you know who I am?" She stared at me for awhile. I said "I'm your daughter". "Whats my name?" She stared awhile longer and finally said "Bruce?" (We don't know anyone named Bruce). I said "Bruce?, Who's Bruce?! And we both started laughing. When my brother arrived I told him what she had said and she started laughing again. What a wonderful gift that was to see her laughing.

So glad you had a good visit. We don't know what is in their minds - but we enjoy seeing them happy.

I love what Ronald Reagan once said: "I will get to the stage where I won't be able to remember your name, but I WILL remember that you are the one who hugs me!"

Hugs, Mariposa
