Hello all!! What's the weather like in the Western Caribbean in Sept (we're going around the 17th)? We're going to Grand Cayman and Ocho Rios? Since it's during hurricane season, what's the likelihood that we'll encounter lots of rain/bad weather?

Thanks for your input!!

Weather in the Western Caribbean is very similar year round. I have been there in November 03, June 04, and December 01 and weather was pretty much the same. Mid 80's and lots of sunshine. Of course you can never predict tropical storms this far out but when one develops forecasters can predict where the storm will go. If one comes through, the Captain will take you somewhere that the storm track is not predicted to follow. We usualy get rained on in the caribbean...just the nature of the weather down there. The good news is that the rain showers are brief and not too intrusive. I've seen ships at sea actually manuver around isolated storm cells. The funniest was in Cozumel back in November. We were snorkeling at Coral Garden when a rain squall came through. It was so funny to see people reacting to the rain....heck we were neck deep in Caribbean Sea...I wasn't concerned about getting wet. I hope you have a wonderful trip.
