Daniel:
FYI. Carnival lists shore tours at their Web site:
www.carnival.com and click on "Destinations." Carnival also has a pocket-sized shore tours phamplet you can get for the entire Caribbean.
Regarding single women, I practice Tai Chi Ch'uan daily on board at either the aerobics studio when it's windy outside or on the sky deck (Victory & Destiny). I get hit on by women all the time asking, "what are you doing?"
I am happily married and I just take the inquiries in stride. On the Victory earlier this month it seemed mostly couples: about 70% couples, 30% singles. We sailed the Eastern Caribbean Dec. 1 - 8, 2002. The economy may have an impact here, as it may be that more older couples can afford cruise vacations compared to youger singles. Then again, the Destiny cruise we took twice in 2001 from San Juan had tons of singles on it. So it may vary by time and by boat.
The hot tubs in the spa are a good place to meet other adults. Few kids or teens use those hot tubs. During the last cruise a couple married women (mother and daughter) approached me in the hot tub. They'd left their husbands back in North Carolina. While I couldn't provide the "action" they sought, the conversation was a friendly. BTW, I'm 47.
If you can dance well (e.g., not just the latest dances but ballroom too), you'll never have a problem keeping company.
My guess is, you may not find "Ms. Right" on your cruise, but you can find "Ms. Right Now" and have a good time. Keep an open mind.
