What happened to Mexico in May?

Does anyone know why NCL is not offering Mexican Riviera cruises in May next year? I know they did this year because we almost booked it. We wanted to book it for May '08 and they have no sailings at all. They cease after April. Anyone know why? Please don't force me to spend $300-$400 more for one day less on board an RC!

I think their last sailing is always the end of April. They will be repositioning to Alaska, but let me check this for sure.

Joe,

I just checked, her last 8 day sailing to Mexico this coming spring is April 16th. She will do her first Alaskan cruise May 3rd.

does this help you a little?

Have you given any thought to looking into Princess?

Typically the NCL Star repositions to Alaska in May, and returns to the Mexican Riviera in October.

yes, her repo back to Mexico Riv usually starts about the 20-25th of Sept. It is a 1 or 2 week repo, starting in BC. some pick her up in Los Angeles which means that is the first official MR itinerary. this year it started on Sept 29th. (from Los Angeles)

Thanks for the comments, but I'm telling you, we almost booked a May Mex Riv this year on NCL but changed our plans at the last minute. They were offering that cruise in May and now they are not. As for Princess, they don't either for May 2008. I'm stuck with Carnival (not a chance), Disney (ditto) and RC, and part of the reason that I wanted to book the NCL over the RC is that the RC cruise is $300 more and one less day. We've held the RC but I just wondered if anyone knew why they changed their plans for next year.

Simple reasons, an Alaskan cruise earns more revenue than a Mexican Riveria cruise. Always have and always will.
