This used to be a VERY active forum. What's happened to it? Where'd everybody go?

Since this is your first post (Welcome!!!), on what do you base your question? If you check the Holland America Roll Calls, I think you'll find quite a lot of activity. For that matter, I believe you'll find THIS forum has as much activity as some of the other cruise lines.
Were you a previous member? In the past were you just a lurker? Were you an active poster under a different username? When was the last time you visited the forum?
What makes forums active is members posting, be it questions or answers really doesn't matter, if there are questions, there will be answers. We try to provide a clean comfortable environment for users to discuss their passion, we feel that we do that, but you can't make a horse drink. In the end, you joined the forum in November of last year, you didn't post for seven months, if you are looking for activity, become active...........

It's mostly listing of press releases. We can read all those on the HAL site and elsewhere. HAL Public Relations Press Releases? When I came here tonight and saw the whole list of thread titles, I remembered why I hardly come here.

There is so little conversation because people so rarely come here. I absolutely agree, and I think that being part of the solution not the problem leaves nowhere to go but up.
As far as the press releases KK is simply helping with keeping up activity while waiting for those rare people to return and become active.
If there were more questions and answers and comments about cruising experiences I am sure there would probably be less press releases.

I am very active at another forum 'over there' but C@ was my first choice yea so many years ago when I first became aware of Cruise Bulletin Boards. C@ was very busy and fun and active but then it wasn't anymore. I don't clearly remember the details of why I (and a few (?) others) left for the most part but there was a time when it changed significantly.
I never would have started this thread but seeing someone else did and it is here and obviously the HAL section needs some stimulation, a little honesty may be okay?? Yes? No?
I am sorry if this is over the line as I mean no harm but I always enjoyed C@ and I am sorry to see HAL section limp along like this. I well remember with fondness the fun I had at C@ for years.

(I actually still have a few e-mails from way back then that demonstrate what it is I am referencing. I knew when I received them, 'things' were different.)

When we first joined a few years ago we only posted in this HAL forum, and that was just occasionally. It was a very active place at the time. I think this forum and many others are losing out to the Facebook era. Even Holland America is using Facebook as a cruise social gathering site.

I too was active years ago and left when it seemed to be going nowhere.
Then I decided to come back and be active. It is hard to keep this section active when so few members post here.
