What is BLU

We will be on Eclipse in April. I know BLU is an eating place, but is it a specialty place, one of the regular venues where you just go and pick something ups??? I thought I had heard it was a health place, like salads, low fat, etc.

Blu is a specialty restaurant available at no charge to AquaClass guests. Yes, it specializes in health foods. It can be booked at a charge by other passengers based on availability.

As Mary Ann says it's the Aqua Class cabin's occupants place for dining. KInda like a return to the older days where "Class" read money talked.
On the Solstice it's kinda a stark restaurant but much smaller of course the the main dining room. I understand that the service is better as it's much more personal being a smaller venue and it's anytime dining.
food generally is report to be very good.
YOu get all the Concierge bennys and almost a complete floor to your self with a "Quiet lounge" forward with a stari direct to the "SPA"

needless to say I have not paid the extra yet so I have no personal experience other than seeing the restaurant.

I've been on 9 cruises in Aqua Class and Blu. Blu is the dining venue for Aqua Class. Suite guests may dine there if space is available for a $5.00 per person charge. It is NOT a heath food restaurant. It is healthier since they tend to use less sodium and lighter sauces, but you can eat as unhealthy as you like. All meals are prepared when ordered and not mass produced as in the MDR. Breakfast is also served in Blu. The staff is there to cater to your every need. I love AQ and Blu.

Thanks cbromber, DH and I are cruising Eastern Meditterean on Equinox in April and will be in Aqua Class and from what I have read including your info, Blu is the Bomb!!!! Can't wait to leave. I consider this our very first cruise since 30 years was really our first cruise with Royal C,,,,it was for business and only a 4 night, 3 days.....meetings everyday. Just knowing Blu is so handy and not crowded makes it a plus. However I do like visiting with others so is that possible in Blu? Is it possible to sit with others?

Having seen the restaurant on the Solstice and read several articles about the restaurant since this thread was opened.I can reasonably say that you will have little problem with meeting and talking to other people in BLU. Tables for two are close to one another and yes you can sit with others if you so arrange.
