What kind of upgrades should I get for 18+?

Hey CA's,

I'm fairly new to all of this. I set up a cruise on March 9th on the Conquest out of Galveston, Texas with 18 friends. We have just now made all our final payments.

The only sort of upgrade I've been offered is moving up higher decks, aside from the 1 free berth for 8 cabins. All inner cabins.

This will be my 3rd Carnival cruise. Should I be getting some sort of deal/upgrade? I know some of you experienced members will have some better advice for me when hinting at or talking about this with my vacation planner.

Regards,

Ian!

Not unless the light of grace shines brightly upon your forehead.....

Seriously consider the free berth a plus and walk away happy, even people with 10-20 cruises fall hit and miss to the upgrade syndrome, it is simply the luck of the draw. They are offering you the higher deck upgrades because they cost more and are not as easy to sell as your bottom dollar cabins, they want your cabins open for sale. Unless you are booked in a block of cabins that are all together and the gang that stays together parties heartier together go for the upgrades, the upgrades will more than likely start splitting you up as they move you into available cabins, but if you are happy where you are don't be afraid to Just Say NO they can't force you to move except for a safety issue.

Have fun

Thanks for the advice, exactly what I was looking for before.

I booked it directly through Carnival. Is that a bad way to go?

We paid 549.99 for a 7 day. I thought it was a pretty decent price, but I heard some others talk about going through websites.
