What makes Carnival Freedom great?

We are booked for our first cruise on Carnival Freedom and I would love some info about her. What should we not miss? Where is the best spot to people watch? Is the supper club worth the cost? Anything that someone can tell me would be great.

Thanks, GW

GW, the first and most important thing "not to miss" is the ships departure times. Unlike airlines the ships are very prompt. I never fail to see some passengers running full speed only to miss the ship by 5 minutes....

The pool area is a very good place to "people watch" as well as the buffets. Another good place is the Atrium, as there is always something going on there....

As far as your first cruise, just relax and go with the flow... The crew is always glad to answer your questions, and there will be information booklets in your cabin to answer a lot of your questions ~~!!~~

First cruise advise: Sit back and enjoy it. Do not try to do EVERYTHING and find yourself tired from running all over the place. Give yourself the time to enjoy the experience.
Freedom advise: I have not been on that ship but have been on the Valor which is the same size etc. It's fairly large and will take a little time to know where everything is. If possible I'd ask for the Aft dinning room. Reason being is the aft windows, a great sunset could be had while at dinner. Just my .02

Thanks for the information. Sorry to make my post sound like my first cruise. It will be however my first cruise on Carnival so I am not familiar with anything Carnival. I only know that Freedom is one of the newest ships. So I guess my question(s) are to make sure I don't miss anything exclusive to Carnival.
If you can add anything I would be greatful.

Thanks again, GW

We were on the Freedom last may and loved it. The food was very good in the dining room and the buffet. Room service was prompt
We liked to sit by the small pool outside of the buffet. It is a quiet spot to read or eat and a quick dip in the pool if it is hot. If you don't see a lounger ask one of the deck crew to find you one. It is also the spot for 24hr pizza and the hot dogs and hamburgers. My DH loved the pizza. If you like Trivia then you will like this ship. They have it a couple of times a day on at sea days.
We did not meet one bad staff member in 12 days. Our room steward was great. The cabins are a very good size with lots of closet space. Your suitcases will fit under th bed or in a closet. The fridge will be stocked with items to purchase. If you want it empty just ask your steward to do it.
The bathroom is large with lots of counter space and a small clothes line in the tub.
The bed was very comfortable. We were on the main deck with an OV room. We were in the back and had some noise in the morning when docking..
There is also food put out in the evening on the deck with the casino. It is down the hall way between the casino and the piano bar.
The entertainment was good. They have singers or musician around the ship during the day and night.
Have a great cruise.

I'm headed for Panama on 2/14 on the Freedom. Last year went on the Glory and it was great, same class ship. Looking forward to the Freedom cruise but could use some help on shore excursions in Colon. We want to go to Panama City but the ship excursion is 8 hours which could be just a bit too long. Any suggestions regarding using folks at the port oft a trip to the city? Thanks.
