Hope that your ship docks at the correct time. Hope that there isn't people that are ill. Hope that people aren't in the ocean that escaped Cuba. Hope that the customs and imagration people aren't late getting on the ship. Everyone of these happend when my ship docked a month ago. First group didn't get off the ship until almost 11am. It was
noon before we did.
Ahoy Dana
We had a similar experience a couple of years ago. Our ship arrived
in port around 6:30 AM and we went to the main showroom to clear
customs. However, there were about a half dozen who did NOT
show up at customs.
We were waiting in a lounge to disembark the ship and kept
hearing the same names, including their cabin number, being
called over the PA system to go to customs. This went on for an
unusually long time. The number of names called was reduced
over time but we didn't get to didembark unitl 10:30 AM.
By this time, the passengers had begun to arrive for the departing
cruise. The traffic jam outside the terminal was horrendous. I left
our luggage on the sidewalk with my wife and tried to get a shuttle
to the parking lot.
The first one was packed full, so I walked back through traffic to
the next bus and was just able to squeeze on board. Driving
our car back to pick up my wife and luggage was another
nightmare.
However, this was only one time in our twenty cruises.
Here's wishing you fair skies and calm seas for your cruise.
Good luck in catching your flight home.
