What's best time to go ashore & beat the crowd?

We are going to Nassau, Key West & Coco Cay. When going off the cruise ship are there huge lines, and if so when are the lines the longest?
This is my husbands first cruise and I know he hates long lines, so I want to avoid them when possible. What time is best? We are not late sleepers, but it is a vacation, and we will want to eat breakfast.

The longest lines are the times when the ship first docks/tenders.......so get up,enjoy your breakfast and let the "morning rush" pass by first.....

So are we talking 45 minutes after we dock or what? Also, we booked an excursion on Nassau that I think starts at 9:15 and we dock at 8:00am, so are we forced to get in that line?

On most ships, if you book a tour with the cruise line, they try to get those people off first. For example: If the ship docks at 8:00am, they would probably have their tour groups get off around 8:30. That tends to be the worst time. I would recommend getting off about an hour and a half after you dock. I cant guarantee that it wont be busy, but we have always found that if you wait a little and not rush it, there is no line.

Hope that helps :)
